(16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

(30) As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a
buckler to all those that trust in him.

(35) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

The above are just SOME verses that show just how much emphasis God puts on his perfect, holy word. Having the word of God is what allows us to know and trust him, and even get saved!
(23) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter 1:23
KJV (King James Version) believers don’t believe that the KJV is the perfect word of God just because it was the first English bible… First, they believe that the perfect word of God exists, period. Then they work down from there to end at the conclusion that the KJV is in fact the perfect word of God.
(4) Where the word of a king is, there is power:
and who may say unto him, What doest thou?
Ecclesiastes 8:4
Does that mean that you can’t gain knowledge and truth or even get saved from other versions of the bible? No, not at all. But the bible tells us to study the word of God (2 Tim. 2:15), so having the word of God is important.
I believe greater insights and discoveries have been made studying the KJV than any other version out there. The word truly is alive! (Hebrews 4:12)
The KJV has brought more people to Christ than any other bible, including the original scrolls!
(20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Matthew 7:20
One of the greatest tactics the Devil uses is to quote the word of God, changing one word here and there. That’s because the Word of God is our greatest tool and defense against the forces of evil and the only offensive weapon mentioned in the Bible (Ephesians 6:17).
Satan has used his tactic on the writers of the “new” versions and their fruits show it. Look at all the different denominations of Christians today. Is God the author of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33)? No! Then who is? Satan.
The NIV (the most popular English bible today) calls both Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) the “Morning Star.” The KJV doesn’t. Think Satan want’s to be worshiped as Christ? Of course! It’s his ultimate goal (Matt. 24:24; 2 Thess. 2:7-12; Revelation 13).
The NIV even has 16 completely missing verses!
[Matt. 17:21, Matt. 18:11, Matt.23:14, Mark 7:16, Mark 9:44, Mark 9:46, Mark 11:26, Mark 15:28, Luke 17:36, John 5:3-4, Acts 8:37, Acts 15:34, Acts 15:34. Acts 24:6-8, Acts 28:29, Romans 16:24, John 5:7-8}
Other new translations omit even more! And that’s not even including all the word changes!
(2) Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall
ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments
of the Lord your God which I command you.
Deut. 4:2
(18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy
of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto
him the plagues that are written in this book:
(19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out
of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Rev. 22:18-19
If we don’t truly have the perfect word of God, but only interpretations, how can we trust anything we read, even our own salvation?
(4) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4
Either the Bible is true or it isn’t and if the KJV is true then the other versions CAN’T be because they say different things!
This is because the KJV version is based on the manuscripts that came from Antioch (the place the disciples were first called Christians in the bible), called the Textus Receptus.
ALL other translations come from Alaxendria Egypt (what good thing ever came out of Egypt in the bible?) called the Nestles Text.
A real Bible believer places the word of God as the FOUNDATION of their faith and so having a bible that we can turn to as the PERFECT preserved word of God is of the upmost importance:
(2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy
lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word
above all thy name.
Psalms 138:2
Having the word of God is truly one of the greatest blessing in my life. So much of God’s truth has been revealed with just one word that might be missing or changed by the newer versions. Take this verse from Genesis 22:8 for an example (and there are a lot more examples than just this!)
Here’s how the King James Version appears:
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a
burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
Wow! What a prophecy! God will provide HIMSELF a lamb for a burnt offering! Is Jesus not God made flesh? Is Jesus not the perfect sacrificial lamb that takes away all the sins of the world? This verse is prophecy about the deity of Christ himself.
Now lets take a look at other “newer” bible versions:
Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the
burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.
(NIV )
“God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham
answered. And they both walked on together.
(NLT )
Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt
offering, my son.” So they went both of them together.
(ESV )
The new versions take the deity out of the sacrificial lamb! Who would want to do that? Satan.
Here’s a fun fact. Did you know that the name for Israel in the bible is Jacob? Did you know that the English name for Jacob is James? King James… King Jacob… King of Israel… Something to think about right there.
I would never tell anyone that doesn’t use a KJV that they weren’t saved. You can get saved off a tract. but a tract isn’t the word of God… And as Dr. Ruckman once said, “You can find a dollar in the trash, it doesn’t make it a bank.”
