The short Answer... No
There’s a lot of confusion in churches today about where the church stands in relation to Israel.
The Catholics, in particular, believe that the church has replaced Israel and that all the promises God made to the nation of Israel has now passed on to the church. But the Catholics believe a lot of unbiblical things (see my article on Easter).
Unfortunately, most churches today use Catholic bibles (all modern bibles are translated from the Alexandrian/Critical texts). Because of this, Catholic ideology has crept into the churches unawares (Jude 4:4).
The theology that the church has replaced Israel is known today as: Replacement Theology.
In this article we will look at:
- Proof Texts For Replacement Theology
- Israel Forsaken?
- The Land, the Seed, the Promise
- The “REAL” Jews
- The Jewish Messiah
- The Future of Israel
For a list of verses used in this article, please see the Verse Index
One of the easiest ways to disprove replacement theology is to use the proof texts people who advocate the theology use and debunk them.
First then, let us take a look at THE MOST USED text to “prove” replacement theology is correct:
- 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
–Romans 2:28-29
If you were to take this verse in isolation I could see how someone might use it as a proof text to argue their point (needing to ignoring more than 90% of the bible to do so). But take a closer look. Even on it’s own, regardless of context, the gentiles are not once mentioned.
For those who don’t know who the gentiles are, they are you! (unless you’re born a Jew). The VAST majority of Christians today are gentiles. Anyone arguing for Replacement Theology believe that saved gentiles are now the real “Israel.” Although verses like the one above, out of context, may seem to support that conclusion, lets see what the passage really means:
In context, the Apostle Paul is saying that although the Jewish people are born Jews physically, they aren’t spiritually Jewish because they haven’t accepted their messiah (see section below on the Jewish Messiah).
A similar lamentation id made on the Old Testament, by the prophet Isaiah, who says the same thing but substitutes the Lord (God) in place of the messiah as the messiah had not arrived yet:
- Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
Isaiah 38:1
These are Jews that are Jews by birth but spiritually they do not trust God or follow his commandments. Notice that no one is speaking of gentiles. If you were to compare those passages to each other they are saying the same thing. Yet the body of Christ didn’t exist in Isaiah’s say and age, so why would anyone suggest that when Paul says what he says he is suggesting the gentiles have somehow replaced the Jew?
Let take a look at Romans 9:6, another overused verse to “prove” replacement theology:
- Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
Again, gentiles aren’t mentioned at all. This is the same sentiment as the first two verses. Paul is simply saying that even though a person might be born a Jew (physically), they aren’t spiritually Jewish because the word of God hath taken non effect. To suggest any of these passage “prove” that the church has replaced Israel, one MUST add their own interpretation of the passages as the passages themselves don’t suggest it anywhere.
Another favorite verse to “prove” replacement ideology is Galatians 3:28-29. Lets see if it succeeds:
- There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Here we have a verse that finally mentions gentiles! The Greeks! But once again, this verse is speaking of spiritual things, in Christ. No right minded Christian today would suggest (rightfully so) that there is no difference between men and women, would they? In fact, Paul gives us MANY verses detailing the differences between the sexes and roles they play in the church, as a husband and wife, and even how to style their hair and clothing.
So how can the very same apostle, who makes many distinctions between sexes in his epistles, suddenly suggest there are no distinctions? Because, once again, this is speaking of saved people in Christ, spiritually. Because saved people, where Jew or gentile, male or females, are part of Christ’s body (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). And, since Jesus is a Jew and a seed of Abraham, you (a saved person), being his body, are also a seed and heir of Abraham. But that doesn’t replace Israel. It simply graphs you into Israel even if weren’t born a Jew.
We can see this play out perfectly in Romans 11:24-25:
- 24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
In the above passage Paul acknowledges the gentiles who believes on Christ Jesus have been grafted into the tree of Abraham, but watch, because Paul STILL makes a distinction between the natural branches (Israel) and the unnatural branches (gentiles). In verse 25 he even says that when the time of the gentiles is fulfilled, the blindness of Israel will be lifted (see section on The Future of Israel). How can Israel be unblinded if the church has replaced it?
The same idea can be seen in Galatians 3:7,9:
- 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Here again we see that the gentiles are grafted into the blessings of Abraham, in Christ, but did you notice the wording of verse 9? It says “blessed WITH faithful Abraham“, not “INSTEAD of faithful Abraham“. Likewise Galatians 6:16 says:
- 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
This phrasing is so important! Read it again: “AND upon the Israel of God.” These are saved gentiles AND Israel walking hand in hand. However, some corrupt bibles will change this verse to read:
- May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.
-Gal. 6:6 New Living Translation
Can you see how, to promote replacement ideology you MUST change the text? Because God doesn’t support it. So, make sure you’re using the right Bible as to not be deceived.
In fact Revelation 2:9, 3:9 (verses used by replacement theologists to “prove” their point) actually speaks out against people that would call themselves Israel but aren’t!
- I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
This is not speaking of actual Jews (you would have to remove 90% of your bible to make that work), it is speaking of proponents of replacement theology, such as the Roman Catholic Church who believe the Church is the New Israel or Jehovah Witnesses who think they are the 144,000 Jews of Rev. 7:4.
When the above “proof texts” don’t work, proponents of replacement theology claim that God has forsaken Israel. They use verses like Matthew 21:43, for example:
- Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Well, there you have it folks. The verse is clear, right? God has taken the kingdom of Israel and given it to another nation that will bear it fruit. Certainly, I can see coming to that conclusion… if you ignore 90% of your bible.
Yes, indeed, the verse is speaking of the kingdom of God being taken from Israel and given tot he gentile believers but it does so in a parable of the vineyard.
The vineyard is indeed Israel (Isaiah 5:1-7), and the fruit thereof is being brought forth by another nation (the other nation being the gentile church 1 Peter 2:9). But if you read Isaiah 27:1-6 you can see that God restores Israel as the Vineyard in the Tribulation (Rom.11:26).
God NEVER forsakes Israel for good. Yes, he punishes Israel but he ALWAYS saves a remnant (Ezekiel 6:8, Isaiah 10:20, Zephaniah 3:13) so that he can fulfill the promises he made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Just look at what Paul writes in Romans 11:1-2,5:
- 1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
The remnant of Israel when Paul is writing is the nation of Israel (unsaved Jews), while the gentile Church also exists. How can both exist if the Church has replaced it? They can’t if you abide by replacement ideology.
Time and time again God has cast Israel aside only to re-establish her later. It’s how he has always dealt with Israel since he brought them out of Egypt and gave them the commandments. That’s why you would have to throw out 90% of your bible make replacement theology work. Just look at Isaiah 49:14-15:
- 14 But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Zion is Jerusalem/Israel. God is saying that even if THEY forget HIM, HE will not forget THEM! Thank God we aren’t saved through our own merit! It’s only because God does not forget that he keeps His promises (Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6)!
In fact, God specifically tells us when we can say Israel has been cast aside:
- Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.
–Jeremiah 31:37 - 20 Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
25 Thus saith the Lord; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
–Jeremiah 33:20-26
Only when the Heavens and Earth can no longer be measured. Only when day and night cease to exist. Only then can anyone say God has cast aside his people Israel. Praise God!
Lets get something straight, God is the same yesterday, today and forever:
- Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. –Hebrews 13:8
- For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
–Malachi 3:6
The reason YOU (if you’re saved), have eternal security (Once Saved Always Saved), is because God is faithful to his promises. You might change. The world might change. But God does not. The same is true of his promise to Israel, and to all the families of the world.
God made a covenant with Abraham that through him (Abraham), all the families of the earth would be blessed:
- 1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
–Genesis 12:1-3
That promise/covenant was said to be passed from Abraham to his seed (offspring) for an EVERLASTING covenant:
- 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
-Genesis 17:5-8
In the above passage we see that not only is the promise be passed to Abraham’s seed, but that it is connected to the land God promised Abraham. But Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. So which seed did the promise pass to?
- 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
-Genesis 17:19,21 - 1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2 And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
–Genesis 26:1-4
God made it crystal clear, the everlasting covenant passed to Isaac, not Ishmael. The covenant and the blessing (to bless all the nations of the earth) is again connected to the land. The covenant would pass to Isaac’s seed after him… But Isaac also had two sons, so which seed did it pass to after him?
- 29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
-Genesis 27:29-30 - 1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13 And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
-Genesis 28:1,4,10-15
Again, the Bible leaves little room for interpretation. This is the exact same promise and blessing that was given to Abraham and it’s being passed to Jacob (who God called Israel). The blessing is connected to the seed, that is connected to the land, that is connected to the promise. This covenant is passed on to all of Jacobs sons, which become the 12 tribes of Israel:
- 1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
-Joshua 1:1-4
The blessing can only come when the seed is in the land!
When God punished Israel in the Old Testament he would remove them form the land. When he blessed them he would return them to the land. God always works like this because he is the same yesterday, today and forever.
For two thousand years the Jews were dispersed throughout all the world (Deut. 28:64) but God brought them back in 1948 (Jeremiah 23:3).
Towards the second advent of Jesus Christ, before Jesus returns to to judge the nations for the way they treated his people Israel (Matthew 25:40), the bible says their would be controversy over the land:
- Joel 3:2: I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
- Isaiah 34:8: For it is the day of the LORD’S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
The conflict happening in Israel right now is a land dispute. But to God there is no dispute. The land belongs to the Jews. Even the Arabs knew this 100 years ago. Look at what Hussein, the Sharif of Mecca wrote more than a century ago, when Jews started returning to the land:
- “The resources of the country are still virgin soil and will be developed by the Jewish immigrants. One of the most amazing things until recent times was that the Palestinian used to leave his country, wandering over the high seas in every direction. His native soil could not retain a hold of him… At the same time, we have seen the jews from foreign countries streaming to Palestine from Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain, and America. The cause of the causes could not escape those who has a gift of deeper insight. They knew that the country was for its original sons [Abna’ihi-L-Asliyin], for all their differences, a sacred and beloved homeland. The return of these exiles [Jaliya] to their homeland will prove materially and spiritually an Experimental school for their Brethren who are with them in the fields, factories, trades and all things connected to the land.“
– Al Qibla, the daily newspaper of Mecca in 1918
One of the most foolish arguments that I’ve heard in recent years is the idea that the people who are in Israel right now are not the “real” Jews. This is said because the majority of Jewish people in Israel (and around the world) are Ashkenazi and the name Ashkenaz was a son of Japheth, not Shem, who the Jews stemmed from. This attack is silly on the surface for two reason:
- There are many examples of decedents in the bible from two different lines with the same name
(an easy example to point out would Enoch, who was a 1st born son of Cain… not to be confused with Enoch who was a son of Seth, Cain’s brother). - The line of Japheth settled in Europe and the Ashkenazi Jews are Jews that were scattered throughout Europe. It’s possible they even settled in the kingdom of Ashkenaz and picked up their name there.
Either way, Ashkenazi Jews were marked as Jews everywhere they went and “share a significant amount of ancestry with other Jewish populations and derive their ancestry mostly from populations in the Middle East, Southern Europe and Eastern Europe.” But the above rebuttals are child’s play when compared to the truth of how God has dealt with them for all to see.
As we already discussed in the above, God doesn’t change. His methods for dealing with Israel have been set in stone since he brought them out of Egypt.
Look at some of the things he says he’d do to Israel if they forsook his commandments:
- 15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
36 The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.
64 And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
–Deuteronomy 28:15,36,62,64
Lets get a few things straight… this is not the Israeli captivity we read about in Jeremiah. Sure verse 34 sounds pretty close, but look at how is says “unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known“. Last time I checked, the Jews knew where Babylon was before they were carried out captive to it. But verse 64 seals the deal, “And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other.” All the earth? That, brethren, did not happen until AFTER the destruction of the temple in 70 B.C. AFTER Christ had died!
When the Jews left Israel, at that time, they were indeed scattered throughout all the world. And, if you do a little research, you’ll find that wherever the Jew went they were marked and had less rights than everyone else in every country they dwelt in. So, there was no confusion to who was who. But don’t worry, it gets more specific:
- The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
-Deuteronomy 28:22 - 10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.
12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
-Isaiah 48:10-12
Notice how specific the Lord gets with his people. “they shall pursue thee until thou perish,” “furnace of affliction.” Combine that with the verses before of being scattered across all the world AND the fact that the verses above in Isaiah 48 have to do with God bringing his people back through a furnace of affliction, I’d venture to say this describes EXACTLY how God brought them back to the land, after two thousand years, in the events of World War II.
The Ashkenazi were the top Jewish casualties of the Nazis in WWII. They were cursed by God as he said he would curse them. But look what else God says:
- 1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee,
2 And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
3 That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.
– Deuteronomy 30:1-3
The promise to return them to the land! Just as he always did when they were in captivity and cried out for Him! And if that wasn’t all:
- And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
– Jeremiah 23:3
If the Ashkenazi were not the “real” Jews that make up God’s chosen people then God would not have blessed them like he has! Since their miraculous return to their homeland, in 1948, the Jews have been more profitable than ever before and in that profitability ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH HAVE BEEN BLESSED! Just as God said they would when the Jews were back in their land!
A great majority of Nobel Prize winners are Ashkenazi. Medical and Technological advancements in the past few decades coming out of Israel are being used everywhere! God has blessed them! To not see God at work here is the result of spiritual blindness in those who attack the Ashkenazi for not being “REAL” Jews. I fear for those brethren at the Judgment Seat and wonder if they were truly saved in the first place.
Jesus said:
- 2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
–Matthew 16:2-3
Can YOU not discern the signs of the times?
Replacing Israel is a damnable heresy. Not only does it curse the Jewish people, who God loves, it strips gentiles of Salvation! That’s right! Without the Jewish people there is no salvation!
- Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
–John 4:22
Your salvation, comes from a Jewish Messiah promised to the Jewish people (Isaiah 9:6). The ONLY reason salvation is extended to the church is to provoke the Jewish people back to God!
- I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
–Romans 11:11
- For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
God is not finished with the nation of Israel and he will curse any person or nation that curses his people:
- And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
–Genesis 12:3 - Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
–Genesis 27:29 - He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
–Numbers 24:9
History shows the above to be true (again, can you not discern the signs?). The nation of Israel was forged in the furnace of Egypt. Out of Egyptian bondage. They were carried off captive by the Assyrians around 700 B.C, followed by the Babylonains around 600 B.C, then ruled by the Persians when Persia overthrew Babylon around 500 B.C And then under Greek authority of the Alexandrian Empire around 325 B.C which morphed into the Roman occupation around the time of Christ.
If you ever wanted proof that the Jewish people are God’s chosen people, do your research on what happened to each of those empires and where they are now. See for yourself what happened to the largest empire in the world, the British Empire, 100 years ago when they reneged on the Balfour document and cursed the Jews. God broke apart their empire.
As my buddy Sam Gipp likes to say, “I’m not glad Israel rejected their messiah, but I am thankful.” I’m saved by the Jewish Messiah and grafted into the tree of the Jewish people.
As mentioned in the previous section, the main theme of the Bible is the return of Christ Jesus, ruling from Jerusalem on the throne of David. This is the Kingdom of Heaven. And the Jewish people will be right there with him:
- 5 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
–Jeremiah 23:5 - But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
–Jeremiah 31:33 - 21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.
24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
–Ezekiel 37:21,22,24,25
It’s important to know the final outcome of the nation Israel because they will need all the help they can get to live to see that day. Don’t get me wrong, that day WILL happen, but Israel still has it’s worst days ahead of it and unless Jews today have accepted Christ, they will go to hell upon death because while they are still physically Jews, they are spiritually dead.
The bible calls the approaching time for the Jewish people “The Time of Jacob’s Trouble” and “Daniel’s Seventieth Week.” Similar to how God used the atrocities of WWII to fulfill prophecy and return the Jewish people to their homeland, He will use the events in the future to bring them to a knowledge of Christ.
It’s important to know that the scripture makes it clear that the Jewish people must be in their land before the Second coming of Christ (more proof it was God who returned them to their land). And just as the hope of their homeland was embedded in their hearts for two thousand years, prior to the events of WWII, the hope of Christ will be their hope in the last days:
- 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
–Matthew 23:37-39
Two thirds of the population of Israel will perish in the upcoming time of Jacob’s trouble. But God will spare his people for something amazing. Something the world has never seen before:
- 8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
–Zechariah 13:8-9
An entire nation, the nation of Israel, will be saved in a moment when they see Jesus face to face:
- 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
-Zechariah 12:9-10 - Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
-Isaiah 66:8 (see also Rev.12:2-6) - And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
-Romans 11:26

–Romans 11:28
Love the Jewish people, and pray for peace in Jerusalem:
- Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
